Communications Assistant 인턴 채용

Terms of Reference: Communications Assistant

 

Background:

The Republic of Korea (ROK) is an exceptional example of an aid recipient turned a high-income country. Now the world’s 15th largest economy, Korea is a key development partner of the World Bank Group (WBG) and an important contributor to the International Development Association (IDA), the fund established to support the world’s poorest countries. The WBG Korea Office located in Songdo, Incheon is designed as a hub and a conduit for WBG-ROK cooperation in other countries.

 

The Korea Office is looking for a dynamic and experienced communications professional to join the Communications Team, giving the communications and outreach support. The Communications Assistant will play a critical role to plan, create, coordinate, and promote relevant content in the day-to-day operation of the Korea Office’s external communications. This position requires strong knowledge of the web and social media, a proven eye for detail, and an ability to work with a diverse set of colleagues.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Communications Officer, the Communications Assistant will be responsible for the following activities:

Help prepare, produce and disseminate both routine and complex communication products (e.g., media packets, news releases, brochures, FAQs, talking points, feature stories and briefing notes, presentations, briefing notes, online and social media content, etc.) about the WBG, its policies and operations in Korea;

Implement and manage formatting and posting of content on the website;

Develop and manage web sites and other online communications platforms;

Update contacts of WBG Korea Office key stakeholders and journalists;

Distribute related publications, reports, and materials to relevant stakeholders;

Help liaise with media to create awareness of the activities of WBG and the Korea Office;                                              

Help inform the management on trends, news developments, or changing/unexpected circumstances that may impact the WBG and its work

 

Qualifications and Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, international development or related area

Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Korean, with an ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, direct, and lively style

Proven ability to work in a fast-moving, complex, and multi-cultural environment

Ability to think and work logically and work precisely with attention to detail

Ability to work capably under stress and to juggle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

Effective interpersonal, communication, and team-working skills

Relevant working experience in the field of communications and public relations, preferable

Computer literate with demonstrated ability in generic computer packages such as Microsoft Office and some familiarity with the Internet, databases and social networking platforms

Knowledge of the World Bank Group in the international development arena

In-depth knowledge of international trends and political/economic issues related to development a plus

 

Duration:

- The position is estimated to last initially for about 3 months (60 working days) with possible extension subject to business needs.
